(LEA COUNTY, NEW MEXICO, January 28, 2021) The Economic Development Corporation of Lea County is proud to announce Jennifer Grassham has been selected as Interim President and CEO. Grassham will assume her new role with the EDCLC on Monday, Feb. 1, 2021. She will replace Missi Currier, PhD, who has accepted an opportunity with Strategies 360, a New Mexico-based governmental relations firm.
“The EDCLC Board of Directors is excited to have Ms. Grassham join our organization,” Tres Hicks, EDCLC Chairman of the Board, said. “She has a strong leadership and management background and, most importantly, passion for growing opportunities in Lea County. She is the perfect fit to keep the momentum of our organization moving forward.”
Grassham previously served as the Vice President of Grants for the JF Maddox Foundation. She is a Hobbs native and recognizes the potential of continued economic development and diversification throughout Lea County.
“With leadership at the county and municipal levels, Lea County is well-positioned to continue to support current businesses and industry while expanding our jobs and gross revenue tax base,” Grassham said. “The EDCLC has worked diligently to promote the potential of Lea County, and we will keep that energy moving forward.”
The mission of the EDCLC is two-fold. Not only does it work to bring in new, economic-based jobs to the region, but also to retain and expand current businesses.
“With changes in oil and natural gas policy and the difficulties of the pandemic, now more than ever, the EDCLC has doubled-down promoting the EnergyPlex and the opportunities for expansion in Lea County,” Hicks said. “Ms. Currier has been an excellent leader, capitalizing on her regional knowledge and varied experience. The EDCLC Board wishes her the best in her future endeavors with the hopes of a continued beneficial relationship. We are confident Ms. Grassham will keep the ball rolling without missing a beat.”
The EDCLC has established a search committee for permanent placement of the President and CEO.
